Because everybody is a fanboy these days. Whatever they like has to be better than whatever you like. If they like boxing, they need to tell everyone how much MMA sucks. If they like MMA, they need to tell everyone how much WWE sucks. If they use a MAC, they have to let everyone know how much PC’s suck. If they have a PS3, they think XBOX360′s suck.

I think you see where I’m going. Theres a difference between a fan and a fanboy. Fans like what they like, but respect your right to like what you like. Fanboys think that the only things that matter are the thing they like. Just ignore them.

I agree with Michael S, boxing is old school and people like that, i was only a boxing fan in the Mike Tyson era due to his violent,agressive i wanan rip your head of style and mma has that style which i like better

I wouldn’t mind it as much if the guys trained and fought in gi’s. But rolling around with another man while wearing a swim suit, just does not appeal to me.

The answer is Business. MMA is the "fastest growing sport in the world" while Boxing’s popularity has been rapidly declining in the US for the past decade. Both being full contact sports; They compete with each other for the Spotlight, PPV buys, etc. It’s natural to resort to criticizing a competing business, when they could potentially put yours in jeopardy.

I think they both can co exists. Before I never watched boxing, after becoming so into MMA, I occasionally watch boxing now as well. I envision a future where in the fight league fighters can agree to meet in the ring via boxing rules or MMA.
